GIANNIS ANTETOKOUNMPO – MILWAUKEE BUCKS
I’m a big LeBron fan, and I’ve been trying every angle to put him ahead for this award, but I can’t. Giannis is the 2019-20 Most Valuable Player. He averaged 29.5 points, 13.6 rebounds, and 5.6 assists in 63 games and led Milwaukee to the 1-seed in the East. Back-to-back for the Greek Freak.

ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
JA MORANT – MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
Ja Morant was must-see TV as a college sophomore at Murray State last season, and he hasn’t changed a bit since making the jump the NBA. He averaged 17.8 points, 3.9 rebounds and 7.3 assists for Memphis in his rookie campaign.

SIXTH MAN OF THE YEAR
GORAN DRAGIC – MIAMI HEAT
In his first season of being strictly in a bench role (starting only 3 times), Goran Dragić adjusted well to his new position to the tune of 16.2 points, along with 5.2 assists over 59 games for the Miami Heat.

DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR
ANTHONY DAVIS — LOS ANGELES LAKERS

While being the defensive anchor for the Lakers, Anthony Davis averaged 2.3 blocks and 1.5 steals per game.

MOST IMPROVED PLAYER
LUKA DONCIC – DALLAS MAVERICKS
From non-All-Star last season as a rookie to MVP candidate in his sophomore campaign, tell me: Who made a larger jump than Luka Dončić? Nobody. Luka improved upon an already gaudy 21.2 points, 7.8 rebounds, 6 assists per game in his rookie-of-the-year season, and made the jump up to 28.8 points, 9.4 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game while bumping his field goal percentage from 42.7% to 46.3% and leading the Dallas Mavericks to their first playoff appearance since 2016.

COACH OF THE YEAR
NICK NURSE – TORONTO RAPTORS
A lot of us thought the departure of Finals MVP Kawhi Leonard from last year’s championship team would spell the end of success for the Raptors, but it certainly wasn’t the case. In fact, the Raptors had a higher winning percentage in this COVID-shortened season than last year’s team.

COMEBACK PLAYER OF THE YEAR
KRISTAPS Porziņģis — DALLAS MAVERICKS
The Unicorn returned to his first NBA action since tearing his ACL in 2018, this time on a new team, and in a new role. Kristaps return to the court was a massive success this season, as he averaged 20.4 points and a career-high 9.5 rebounds, while adding two blocks per game to help the Mavericks get back to the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

BUBBLE MOST VALUABLE PLAYER
DEVIN BOOKER — PHOENIX SUNS

Book led the 26-39 Phoenix Suns to an 8-0 record in Orlando, getting the Suns into their first playoff chase scenario since 2013-14 and just barely missed out on their first playoff appearance since 2010. Book not only proved to the world that he’s ready to lead a winning team, but proved that he’ll do the winning in Phoenix with this crew instead of asking for a trade, as anticipated by many with NBA Expert status.
